1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SireLink ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. The Platform

SireLink is a marketplace that connects animal owners seeking stud services with stud providers. We do not participate in, facilitate, or guarantee any breeding arrangement or transaction between users. All arrangements are made solely between the parties involved.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Listings & Content

All listings must be accurate, legal, and relate to legitimate animal stud services. You must own the rights to any photos you upload. We reserve the right to remove listings or content that we consider fraudulent, inappropriate, harmful, or in breach of these Terms, at our sole discretion.

5. Payments

Listing fees, subscription fees, and boost fees are processed via Stripe. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Deposit payments between users are made directly and SireLink acts only as a facilitator. We accept no liability for disputes arising from user-to-user transactions.

6. Memberships

Membership subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. The Founding Member programme is granted at our sole discretion and confers the benefits described on the Membership page. Founding Member status and its benefits are non-transferable.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or inaccurate listings
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to circumvent our payment systems
• Scrape or copy Platform content without permission
• Post listings for species where stud services are illegal in your jurisdiction

8. Limitation of Liability

SireLink is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for the actions of users, the outcome of any breeding arrangement, the health of any animal, or any loss or damage arising from use of the Platform. Our total liability in any circumstances is limited to the fees paid by you in the preceding 3 months.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

SireLink ("we", "us", "our") operates the SireLink platform. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this service. To contact us about data matters, please use the Contact page.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), profile photo
• Listing data: animal details, photos, location (postcode/city), contact phone number
• Payment data: transaction records (card details are processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
• Usage data: pages visited, search queries, listing views
• Communications: messages sent via the Platform, support tickets

3. How we use your data

• To provide and improve the Platform
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, payment receipts, expiry reminders)
• To respond to support requests
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data under the following lawful bases: contractual necessity (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, platform security), legal obligation (tax records, law enforcement requests), and consent (marketing emails, where applicable).

5. Who we share data with

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and file storage
• Stripe: payment processing
• Resend: transactional email delivery
• Cloudflare: hosting and Workers infrastructure
• Other users: your public listing data and display name are visible to other platform users

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Listings are deleted 30 days after expiry unless renewed. Payment records are retained for 7 years for tax purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the Settings page or by contacting us.

7. Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk)

8. Cookies

We use localStorage to store your currency preference and favourites. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Firebase may use functional cookies for authentication session management.

9. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication. We apply Firestore security rules to restrict data access. Despite these measures, no online platform can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
